  • Hi GMC'ers! In this lesson you are going to learn how to play a melodic Jig line with some Banjo tricks. I will show you how I add a short 2-strings-sweep to simulate a banjo sounding. Also I will show you where I hit the strings with the pick in order to get a brighter sound. I will explain the theory behind this tune in every lesson part.

    Chord Progression:

    D-G-D-G
    Bm-Em-F#m-G-A

    Techniques:
    * 2 String Sweep
    * Jig style (down-down-up)
    * Alternate Picking

    Scales:
    * D major

    Tuning:
    * Dropped D
    * D - A - D - G - B - E
    (From thick to thin string)
