Hey Metalheads!!!
Today we will cover one of the hymns of Heavy Metal. This song is the most popular Iron Maiden song and I’m sure that it’s one of the most covered songs by beginner metal bands.  If you want to be a metal guitar player this song is a must!
Iron Maiden is an English heavy metal band formed in 1975. This song is the fifth song of their fourth album called “Piece of mind” realised in 1983.
“The trooper” describes Iron Maiden heavier side very well. You’ll find the entire characteristics that made them the most important and influential metal band in the whole world.
In this lesson we will work techniques as palm muting, alternate picking, galloping, legato, vibrato & bending.
I also invited my brother Ziva (Cirse) to play the bass on this lesson because I consider Steve Harris bass playing & sound essential to recreate Iron Maiden’s sound. That’s why we also added slow video were Ziva shows how to play this masterpiece on bass for all the curious or aspirants to bass player. He used “three fingers” Harris technique with his right hand.
The whole song is in E minor key excepting the second solo where modulates to A minor. The tuning used is 440 standard.
