Hi GMC-ers!
Welcome to my new lesson series, in which I would like to show you some riff variations in a few styles. This is a very important part of the guitar playing and the riffing technique is also very exciting. There will be some easier and more difficult themes in it, I hope you’ll enjoy it!
The interesting part of the first lesson is the alternate picking. I don’t use powerchords or chords at riffing, but I play octave notes separately. It’s important that we play it with alternate picking, because at this or higher speed it can’t played with only down picking.
There are two themes in this lesson. The first is in F at the first fret. The second is also in F, but at the 8th fret. In both themes there are jumps to F# first, then to G# G F# F and during the whole part I use octave notes. Only at the end of the themes there are three powerchords.(G#sus4 Gsus4 F#sus4 ).
