Hello GMC-ers and welcome to my 4th lesson!
It’s time to concentrate on our picking hands! In the vibrato lesson I wanted to show you how it is possible for our playing to be powerful and expressive without any hard technique. Now I will try and demonstrate how we can create something really powerful playing different rhythms, without using too many notes.
The tempo is 190 bpm, that’s why it’s very important to warm our hands up, and stretch them continuously during the practice to avoid possible injuries.
You can see in this video that I play standing up because it was too difficult to play sitting down.
For the thrash metal genre (which is one of my personal favorites) I tried to fill the lesson with very specific rhythmic solutions hoping that (as with the vibrato lesson) a lot of you will recognize the possibilities and power in it.
Here you don’t have to memorize difficult techniques, or mind the phrases. Just hit the volume button and the gain, and let it roar!
The techniques used were: palm muting, artificial harmonics, slide, wide vibrato, staccato.
Don’t forget the tune is 1 step down: D G C F A D
I hope you’ll enjoy this! Happy practicing!
Note: I always work with Power Tab which I prefer much much better than the Guitar Pro. Unfortunately during importing some mistakes occur which I can’t avoid. If you need the perfect version in ptb format, pls let me know via P.M.
