  • Hello Everybody ¡! In this lesson we'll work with the classical rhythm of Astor Piazzolla music.
If you pay attention you will hear that in the bass line there some rhythm along the song that you have to internalize. This is the most important thing in this lesson.

The first chord is Fm; the melody is composed by Eolian mode (in the first bar). The second bar is Bbm (Dorian mode). The third bar is Eb7 (mixolydian mode). The next chord is Ab one bar. (jonian mode), then Db (Lydian mode), then G7b9b13 (the secondary dominant to the third chord). Now we have C (modal exchange).
In this part of the song we have a modulation. The chord now is Cm one bar (Eolian mode), then Fm (Dorian mode), then Bb7 (first grade dominant), this chord resolve to Eb (jonian mode), then Db (Lydian mode) and now D7. Here we have other modulation, in this case to G major. Am one bar, D7 one bar. G two bars and the last modulation; F#m one bar, B7 one bar and E two bars.
