  • Hello everyone!

What do rock and reggae have in common? Not much usually, but we can make them come together with a little imagination!

I took a reggae groove and applied a rock oriented solo over it, respecting the feeling and phrasing manner imposed by the chosen groove. The result? Take a look above!

Because of the elements included, you'll improve the following things:

    - Hybrid picked octaves
    - Rhythmic sense
    - Scale runs with bended notes (I indicated the bends in the text for each lesson part as the GP made them sound totally awfull)
    - Vibrato
    - Fusion elements between rock and reggae (reggae rhythm and rock phrasing)

    Tuning: Drop D (D A D G B E)
    Progression: Dsus2 Bbsus2 Csus2
    Meter: 4/4
    Scales used: D minor pentatonic (D F G A C) with a borrowed E from the Aeolian mode
