Hey GMC-ers! Welcome to my cover of the famous SRV song titled "Pride & Joy". This time I'll cover the rhythm section only.
"Pride & Joy" is probably SRV's best known song, and is the second track on his first album named "Texas Flood". Stevie wrote this song for her wife Lenora.
The rhythm part is a bit tricky if you are not familiar with the shuffle. The shuffle is a triplet based rhythm. Stevie produced it by hitting the desired note or chord and upstroke and mute the last note of the triplet.
Techniques:
* Texas Shuffle
* Chord Strumming
* Bluesy Phrasing
* Hammer-ons
* Pull-offs
Tuning:
* Half Step Down
* Eb - Ab - Db - Gb - Bb - Eb
(From thick to thin string)
