Very good question!
Answer is YES! Slapping on guitar is essentially the same technique transferred from bass. Thumping is the same (remember to bounce off!), popping is the same and you can also do the left hand slap on guitar which sounds pretty much the same as on bass. Also other more advanced slap techniques like double thump etc apply on guitar too. Only difference is that it may be a little harder to adapt technique to guitar because of smaller strings and spaces between them but you can get used to it. I would recommend you to go through this lesson and to try to apply same slap bass licks on guitar. Let me know if you need any help!
