Kristofer Dahl21st February 2010This was mindblowing + I think I am hearing more notes in there than in Yngwies version?!
Awesome Marius!
Alexiaden9321st February 2010Insane speed, Marius ! I don't think I will master this lesson before I've grown a beard two feet long. :S
Hats off ![]()
Marius Pop21st February 2010@ Kris: is the RIGHT amount of notes. If there are more notes than in Yngwies version then this lesson is about what Yngwie should have played ![]()
@ Alexiaden93: so 220 bpm = 2 feet beard. 300 bpm = ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC_D0NeQ1hc
I am not that good & math ![]()
Staffy21st February 2010I have a beard of 1 feet long, so that must be that I'm supposed to play this is in 110, right? *lol* Btw. I discovered some hidden overtones in the tempo of 600 in the middel, if that was what You meant Kris??
Nah, jokes aside, that was really awesome Marius. Technically there is nothing to improve and it sounds faboulous. I'm not into Yngwies music, but otherwise I would have done a 10-year schedule for this one or so!
Marius Pop21st February 2010@ Staffy: 2 ft = 220, 1 ft = 110 That is correct so far. The problem is that there is no backing track @ 110 so you should grow another 2 inches of beard to get to the "backing 130" level
)
Or, maybe, forget about maths and concentrate to our collaboration ![]()
And, by the way, I need more people in my blues jazz collaboration

Thanks again Staffy ![]()
Bondy21st February 2010OMG! awesomes Go Marius :0

)

Emir Hot21st February 2010I started doing this one but I gave up because we are not able to show tabs
Great execution man. Sounds great.
NoSkill21st February 2010Well, you played the heck outta that man! Great stuff. I love to see the innate talents of someone that can play that fast but with precision and timing taken into account. Cool to see and hear man!
playaxeman21st February 2010Amazing.
You did a great job Marius. You have a great talent for speed and accuracy
This will take me X-yeaaars to learn it at this speed.
Maybe a slowdown program can help me to learn it at 90 bpm
Adrian Figallo21st February 2010amazing performace marius, and i mean, AMAZING.
Crazy_Diamond21st February 2010Awesome lesson Marius but definetaly not for me I would have to practice for ever to handle this one ...
Jonathan Burgos21st February 2010Marius! This is something impressive! You're an excellent guitarist. Awesome .
Laszlo Boross21st February 2010Awesome playing Marius! This is a very nice piece for me. Thanks! ![]()
Marius Pop21st February 2010Thanks guys!
@ Emir: I don't think that not being able to show the tabs is such a bad thing after all. I don't remember when was the last time I learned a song by the tabs... I think that tabs are very often interfering in the process of learning properly and especially understanding things logical from a musical POW. Thanks for the comment ![]()
@ Anyone who thinks this is too hard: if you like this kind of music and you wanna play it you have to practice and this song can be a perfect start. Put the metronome @ 60 if you have too and build up from there. You will not regret this! Practice makes perfect ![]()
Berglmir21st February 2010Pure Madness!
My son is 3,5 years old - I will urge him to practice NOW!! ![]()
Great stuff!!
Stephane Lucarelli22nd February 2010Impressive performance man!!
Daniel Realpe22nd February 2010Agh I love the way you play it man,
you have that fusion touch in your playing, melted with neoclassical Yngwie sounds great to me,
this is a must for any serious lead player imo
djohnneay22nd February 2010MASSIVE!!!
Lian Gerbino22nd February 2010awesome man! well done and nice playing!
Marius Pop22nd February 2010Thanks guys!
@ Berglmir: lol Do you think that's a good ideea? ![]()
@ Daniel: You got the idea right. Learning from other players - good, just trying to copy other players - bad (IMO). Thanks for the comment!
Maestro Mistheria23rd February 2010Great performance! ...I've a "keytar" version of this song, sometime I like to play it live... maybe one day we can "duet" on it! ;-)

maty27th October 2010I am able to make it a speed, because I practice a lot with videos of Michael Angelo Batio. but I have trouble with my timing.
Work absolutely aswesome
Michael AC24th September 2012I think this is better than Yngwie since your neck is not scalloped...master shred.

Hello everyone, and wellcome to my lesson.
In this lesson I will try to teach you one of Yngwie Malmsteen's most famous song: Trilogy Suite Op. 5 from his 1986 album "Trilogy". Like most of Malmsteen's songs from that era this song is a fast and excelent exemple of neoclassic metall.
This is a perfect song to practice because of it's logical structure and melodic content.
The structure of the song is (according to my notation):
Intro (guitar only, the chords are played by the backing band on Yngwie's signal):
Intro 1
Intro 2
Intro 3
2 bars of drums
Part 1:
Lick 1, Lick 2 x 4
Lick 4
Lick 5
Lick 6
Lick 7
Lick 8
Lick 5
Lick 6
Lick 9
Lick 10
Lick 11
Part 2:
Lick 2
Lick 1
Lick 2
Lick 4
Lick 5
Lick 6
Lick 7
Lick 8
Lick 5
Lick 6
Lick 9
Lick 10
Lick 11
Enjoy practicing.
