  • Hi GMC and welcome to my lesson :)

Some time ago, I got a lesson request from a member 'Col Roberts' for folk style fingerpicking, this is not exactly that style but it's quite similar, I hope this lesson will answer the request in some way. This style of playing sounds like two guitars playing in the same time, because thumb is playing alternating bass patterns, while other fingers play a melody, mostly syncopated, which gives a nice 'swing' feeling. This technique was mostly used in genres like ragtime and folk.

I love playing alternating bass a lot, but all the songs I usually play are under copyright so I had to make my own for GMC. I tried to make it simple (at least for the bass line) while adding some difficulties for the melody line. If you like it I will make some more lessons in this style :)

    Key signature: A Minor

    Time signature: 4/4

    Tempo: 100 bpm

    Have fun! :)

    Dejan
