Hello mates! Piotr here. Welcome to my Christmas lesson in the blues style. This time I decided to remodel the old Polish Christmas carol in the Texas blues style, so it sounds a little like SRV.
The melody is pretty simple and easy to memorize. Beginners can have a bit of a problem with the intro and ending of the song, because of hard bendings and pretty fast picking, but I hope that you
won't have any bigger troubles.
We are going to use:
-bendings
-vibrato
-alternate and SRV-like picking :)
I used mostly G major scale and blues pentatonic scale.
chord progression:
G-----C, D, G, Em, C, D, G, G7, C, D, G, Em, C, D, G-----G
key: G
tempo: 140bpm
time signature: 4/4
This is the preset I used for the POD XT live for this lesson:
Amp: 1958 Tweed B-Man Drive 8 - Bass 8 - Middle 9 - Treble 6 - Presence 2
Cab: 4x10 2001 Line 6
Com: Threshold 30 - Gain 5
Stp: Classic Distortion
Rev: Standard Spring - 32%
The lesson is available in the guitar pro 5 file, mp3 backing tracks included.
Enjoy!
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Piotr
