Hi mates and welcome to my new lesson! After jazzy lines which we played last time, today it is time to rock! I wrote those few riffs in the style of modern prog metal bands like Symphony X which I love. So, we are focusing mainly on a rhythm guitar with a little solo lick so that it won't be boring.

    We are going to use:

    - dropped D riffs,

    - palm muting,

    - alternate picking,

    - pinch harmonics,

    - vibrato

I used D minor pentatonic scale.

This is the preset I used for the POD XT live for this lesson:

    Amp: MS Line 6 Big Bottom Drive 7 - Bass 5 - Middle 7 - Treble 6 - Presence 5

    Cab: 4x12 2001 Treadplate

    Dly: Delay Time - 90 (8th note) - Mix 20%

The lesson is available in the guitar pro 5 file, mp3 backing tracks included.

    Have fun! :)

    Piotr
