Hi GMC! Here is a tune I composed while ago, it has simple chords structure consisting only of Fmaj 7 and Dmaj 7. Nevertheless, it’s hard to play, because there are lots of pauses, and in the first part you have to move your left hand really fast, because the last tone of the 3-tones sequences has to be sustained, and you have to be very precise.
There is a interesting part where you play where you play D# melodic minor over D maj, interesting combination, and it’s used lot in jazz music, though this is not strait ahead jazz. We have 4 scales used here, C minor, D minor, A# major, D# melodic minor, so basically you can use all of them to improvise over the chord sequence.
