  • Hello there! I had a combination of requests a while back to do a full song and an Inersha lesson, so here goes all in one:)

    Big thanks to Cavan (Inersha bassist) for coming over to do the lesson and back tracks. There is a bonus video of Cavan and I jamming the full track included in this lesson to give you a sneak preview to the riffs coming in part 2!

    Big thanks to Keran as well (Inersha drummer). We couldn't get him in for the lesson but we worked together to make sure the drums were programmed as close as possible for you to jam along with Cavan in the backtracks:)

    Backing tracks are available at different tempos with a jam loop. Hi-hat's have been put in the quieter bits of the track to help you keep time. All backing tracks have a one bar count in.

    Even though this is a rhythm/riffs lesson a lot of different techniques are used in this song:
    Alternate picking, String skipping, Hybrid picking, position shifts and a pinch harmonic or two.
    We'll also dabble in some effects. Fingerings and picking directions are included in the tabs.

    I used a multi-FX for the lesson. You'll need a slicer effect with distortion, clean tone with chorus/delay, and a dry main distortion.

    Tuning for the lesson from low to high is B, F#, B, E, G#, C#
    I used .11 gauge strings.

    The Key of Straight through the Heart is E major. We'll be using these E major scale shapes in part 1:

    Remember we tuned to Drop B;)
