Schumi Jr4th May 2009Great lesson Lian! You nailed it perfectly.
I just discovered Kamelot last year but quickly fell in love and have a personal belief that they are a very underrated band that deserves much more exposure.
Marek, check out their latest two albums - The Black Halo and Ghost Opera. Also their double-disc DVD titled One Cold Winter's Night: Live is a must for anyone who likes this kind of music.

Mychandrael19th June 2009Haven't been on in a while, finally got around to seeing this. Damn, sounds just like something they'd do on Epica. Thanks so much for taking up the request again Lian. Can't wait to see more. ![]()
Lian Gerbino19th June 2009sure man, no problem!!! thanks for the comment!

Hi everybody, welcome to a new lesson.
This time, I was requested to do a lesson in the style of Kamelot!
This band´s awesome. They play a sofisticated power metal, that I really like it.
To start this series I based this lesson on my favourite songs from the album called EPICA.
So, I hope you find interesting this lesson and also this awesome band if you still don´t know them.
In this first edition, will see an intro, a melodic line or a chorus part, a verse line, and an ending.
Many thanks to the members who requested this lesson at my board: Mychandrael, Audiopaal, Sygma7, Jer.
Take the lesson step by step and ask me if you need any help.
Used scales: E minor
Meter: 4/4 –
Guitar Tune: Down 1/2 step
TEMPO: 160bpm
As some of you know, I use a POD xt to rec all my lessons. In my board you´ll find my presets ;)
On the other hand, here´re the settings for people who wants them..
Amp model: based on Marshall JCM-800
Drive 2
Bass 4.9
Middle 5
Treble 6.8
Presence 5
Small room Reverb:
Predelay 0%
Decay 42 %
Tone 50%
Mix 43%
Remember: Same settings in other gear will produce a different sound, but, as we´ve talked at the forum, this could be useful for some members, so enjoy!
If you have any problems let me know. Take care.
see you all around.
Lian Gerbino
