  • Oasis is a British band of rock formed in Manchester at the beginning of the nineties. Tony McCarroll was composed originally by the vocalist Liam Gallagher, the guitarist Paul Arthurs, the bassist Paul McGuigan, under The Rain's name. Noel Gallagher joined later as guitarist and principal composer, adopting the current name of Oasis.

Musically his principal influences have been, according to them themselves, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who. Also they have named, between others, The Stooges, The Kinks, The Smith and Neil Young.

Due to 10 millions of copies sold of his album début Definitely Maybe, to 20 millions of copies sold of his second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and to the fact of which his third album Be Here Now is most sold in his first week in the history of England by 813.000 copies, Oasis is considered to be one of the biggest musical sets of his country.

The brothers Gallagher are the leaders and composers of the band, and nowadays the original members. They are recognized also by his constants you fight between they and with other bands and artists, as Blur and Robbie Williams, which have generated multiple appearances in the sensationalist press. The current alignment is completed by the guitarist Gem Archer, the bassist Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
