Hi and welcome to the first part of this Viking-Folk Metal concepts ;) We will work on full songs. Rhythms, riffes, verses, choruses, all we need to create really powerful Metal songs. Here IŽve used a lot of instruments not-too-common in a standard metal band. IŽve included Accordion, tin whistle, flutes and violins.
As some of you know, thereŽs a lot of bands in those styles, but every band sounds different . Why? Well, thereŽre some bands who plays Black Metal, others who plays Death Metal, even Epic and Power, what they have in common are Lyrics and folk vestiges from their ancestral zones, in other cases adding Folk instruments the band.
so weŽll see how all those bands compose their songs.
Some of the bands I am including to create the whole concept are:
Finntroll, Ensiferum, Turisas, Amon Amarth, Falkenbach, Summoning, Heidevolk, Vintersorg.
Take this lesson step by step and have fun!
Chords: included in every video.
Used scales: D minor, C minor, Mostly.
Bar: 4/4
Notes: Eighth. Sixteenth triplet.
Tune Down: 1/2 step
TEMPO: 130 bpm
As some of you know, I use POD xt to rec all my lessons. In my board youŽll find my presets ;)
On the other hand, hereŽre the settings for people who want them.
Amp model: based on Soldano Slo-100
Drive 9
Bass 4.9
Middle 5
Treble 6.8
Presence 7
Small room Reverb:

Remember: Same settings in another gear will produce a different sound, but, as weŽve talked at the forum, this could be cool for some members, so enjoy!
If you have any problems let me know. Take care.
See you all around.
