How are you, GMC? Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840) was a legendary violin virtuoso from Italy. He had such an impossible technique that people rumored that he had sold his soul to the devil.

His 24 Caprices, Op. 1, was composed for the solo violin. The last Caprice, No. 24, is probably the most famous one. Other classical composers such as Brahms and Liszt among others, have composed pieces based on this theme.

It has been guitaristsf favorite, too. I am showing the theme from Caprice No. 24. Since it is a single line, it would be much easier to play it on the electric guitar with a pick. But I think it sounds good on the classical guitar, too, and would provide a great exercise for both hands.

Ascending legato, position change and alternate finger picking will be covered in this lesson.

Thanks Kosei - this sure looks like a great exercise for both hands. I also like how you give us a little history with every lesson! biggrin.gif

You can't imagine how thankful I am for this one!! Great!!
But you should do the other parts too :]

And an arrangement for guitar of the 5th Caprice would be the best thing ever :] :]
