  • Hello friends of guitarmasterclass! Let's go to see a theme of farruca. The farruca is commonly played in the key of A minor, with each compás equivalent to 2 measures of 4/4 time with emphasis on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th beats: [1] 2 [3] 4 [5] 6 [7] 8 (The same as for tangos, but the feeling is very different). Etimologicaly, the word may have come from the arabian word faruq, brave.

The piece have a little introduction, and the tempo changes at the moment the rasgueados enters. In baile (dance) these tempo changes are common. To perform this right you must play attention to these changes, as well as the different dynamics of each phrase. I hope you enjoy it!
