      Fernando Sor's Variation over a Theme from the Magic Flute, the third variation. This variation is in E major, it is not very difficult but some attention is needed.

    Hello everyone, today I continue with Fernando Sor’s Variation over a Theme from the Magic Flute, this time I´m showing you the third variation. This variation is on E major, even it is not very difficult but some attention is needed. In this occasion I didn’t incluce any right hand fingering in the standart score, just follow the principle of trying to not repeat fingers on the same string when the music is not slow.

    The phrases begin with a pick up to G#, and the pick up usually is a long value (an eight). Make sure you first play the melody, and then the accompaniment alone, that will give you a better understanding of what’s going on. I include a phrasing explanation on vid 3 where is something a little tricky. There are also some backing tracks for you to practice to.

    Notation:

    Right hand

    i= index

    m= medium

    a= ring

    p= thumb

    Left hand

    1= First finger

    2= Second finger

    3= Third finger

    4= Fourth finger

    Hope you like it. Have fun.
