Outside the window a sound was calling
Hear the tale of raindrops falling..
Hi GMC and welcome to Raindrops Lesson :) It was a rainy evening sometimes in May this year when I was attracted by a sound of raindrops falling from the roof and it inspired me to write this piece. I hope you like it. :)

This piece may help you to learn and improve finger picking, it is a fairly easy one and I think you'll not have much trouble to master it. Just keep it fluent and accent the melody.

Key signature: G Major
Time signature: 2/4
Tempo: 60 bpm
Notes: 8th triplets

Enjoy :)

Dejan

this may sound stupid but hey i'm a beginner.tongue.gif

why are some of the note above the tab like the 3 in the first part while it sounds and looks like he picks the third fret on the high e- string?has this a special meaning?
Dejan Farkas
post 4th January 2008

Instructor

Thank you guys smile.gif

Jelle, if you speak about this mark |--3--| above the tab, it means that these notes below that mark are triplets. Is that what you meant? smile.gif

how did you link your inspiration "the rain" and transcribe it into the chords you used
Dejan Farkas
post 18th April 2008

Instructor

well, I wouldn't say that I transcribed the rain into chords.. I heard sound of raindrops on my balcony (falling from roof), which sounded something like G, E, F#, G.. took my guitar and let the inspiration to lead me through the song, I did not choose chord progression, it came naturally smile.gif

sigma7 - thank you very much smile.gif

Young Shredder - thank you for the kind words, I hope "Someone Special" will like it smile.gif
And there are no lyrics for the song, it is just a motive that may be developed sometimes

I Would like to know the chords to memorize it better. IF you have them up somewhere, I would love to hear them.
Dejan Farkas
post 22nd April 2008

Instructor

Well, if I write you the real chords it would be even harder to memorize it smile.gif

But if I simplify it could be like this:

Em, G, C, Bm, Am, D, G, E7
Am, Em, C, D, G, E7
Am, Em, C, D, G

But it is better if you can listen the tune enough times to be able to hear it in your head smile.gif
