Hello GMC!
-Welcome to my new rock bass lesson. In this lesson we are going to play using a pick. We will mostly be concentrated on keeping a rock groove using 8th notes. This type of line can be heard in the 70s and 80s rock era on records from bands like AC/DC.
-In this rock tune you will practice playing with a pick , alternating throughout the tune. You will also use some vibrato and slides too and practice combining different groove feels.
-Scale used in this lesson was E minor and every note played here will match this scale.
-Key: Em
-Tempo: 140 bpm
-Time signature: 4/4
-Tuning : standard
-Difficulty: beginner/intermediate
Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added treble and middle on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis(eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).
Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.
Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun rockin' this one!
