Great lesson. Warm up is indeed important. I notice that myself when I dont warm up. So far I'm only singing while listening to CD's, but I'm working on some recording! Thank you, this was a helpfull lesson.

Jammer91: The whole point with these lessons is that they are aimed towards guitarists - thus the tabs. I do not think you will find singing lessons for guitarists anywhere else!

Welcome Lucia great lesson - I like your remark "your voice is not flexible enough yet". The bit I like is the 'YET' word . I need to increase my range in the upward direction a lot. I'm naturally sort of stuck in me boots! Will you be doing stuff that would help there?

But then, I still take flack from the other band members for doing at least 20 minutes of walking around, warming up before a gig ;o) Like it's only for opera and choral singers...

To Kris and Luciana:Yeah this is something new, but isint singing a natural talent? Theres only a limit to which you can improve your vocals. I dont exactly know why, but when i sing it sounds like crap. My voice is really deep, so instead i resort to metal screaming. My point is that, which i feel is true (i may be wrong), that you cant really improve the way you sing, you just need to find the right type that suits your voice.

Kris youre doing an amazing job in improving GMC. Seriously, youre efforts are evident in finding new instructors. WE NOW GET LIKE TWO LESSONS A DAY!!! And now youve really diversified and started vocals with guitar (i never expected it). Thanks a lot for your efforts along with the efforts of the instructors.

I started voice lessons a few years back for a few months and I have never been a 'natural' singer. But because of my guitar/music background I know what sounds good and what doesn't. 2/3 years later my voice has improved great fold and i mainly practice along to songs. What I have been doing with the guitar is playing some basic patterns and harmonising with the guitar and it sounds great. I am not far away from singing something that sounds great! For those of you which just starting i have LEARNT how to sing.

Luciana great lessons, great to see I can now combine two warm-up lessons together.

Having some singing experience I do agree that practicing can definitely improve your voice.
I would like to add that it is a muscle and the more work you give it the stronger it will become.

I agree with Luciana's saying - I have always got to hear I can't sing but I have practiced it the last year and feel I am doing great progress... So my conclusion is that just as with the guitar, it's abotu PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE Which is a nice way of life by the way!

I think most on board this site will agree Luciana is no doubt the best looking of the instructors on GMC. I just had a singing lesson for the non singer. We received an anatomy lesson and learned how to breath.
