Hi, GMC! This is the third study in A major from Matteo Carcassi's 25 Melodious Studies for Guitar. This is one of my favorite pieces by Carcassi. Although it is in major key, it sound so melancholic, and its chord progression is beautiful.
Again, like other Carcassi studies, this one mostly consists of the same arpeggio pattern, gp-i-m-a-i-m-a-i-m-p-i-mg.
The melody on the first string is to be played with great stroke. With rest strokes, the melody stands out from arpeggiated accompaniment, and this is the typical way of playing the melody and the accompaniment at the same time on the classical guitar.
p = thumb
i = index finger
m = middle finger
a = ring finger
