Recognition Program - REC

The REC (or recognition) program grew out of a desire to establish a common standard for GMC students to gauge their improvement against. All that is required to participate is a video camera and some enthusiasm!

To enter, all you need to do is record a video of you playing the main part of any GMC lesson against the backing track. Next, you post it on YouTube, and add a topic to the REC board. Then, your attempt will be graded by 5 or more instructors, who will also give you feedback on your performance and suggest areas of improvement.

If you achieve a pass grade, your overall score will be adjusted on the REC Score board, and your honor badge will be updated if you have improved enough. Your score includes an element based on your overall REC experience and an element related to the complexity of the lessons. Your honor badge will reflect your overall score and you will get a descriptive title like "Experienced Tone Seeker" or "Ultimate Guitar God".

The REC program is a great way to motivate yourself to practice GMC lessons and to see how you are improving over time!
