Hello GMC! This lesson has been inspired the cleanest stuff of the dark/gothic/death/doom/atmospheric (or how you would like to call it) bands like Opeth, The gathering, Katatonia, etc. The main influence of this tune is the Opeth’s album called Damnation. This one is a masterpiece in dark acoustic progressions. Opeth’s use of acoustic guitar arpeggios combined with electric guitar slow solos could make you cry.

In this lesson I tried to use the same intervals between the chords changes and the modulations. I didn’t use any harmony theory for this composition; I just tried to find the most obscure chord succession at every moment so I can’t explain you a formal way to compose this stuff. I just followed my ear, my mind and my heart.

You’ll find this lesson very helpful to practice clean arpeggios, chord changes and also vibrato and bending.

I hope that you enjoy it!

See you!
Gabriel.-

what can I do to get my fingers to stretch further. I need some exercises, obviously I had trouble with that chord that goes from 2f to 4th to 6th fret without releaseing fingers. Nice Job btw!!!

Yes. this kind of chord changes is a bit difficult. Practice this chord change slowly from the first chord to the second and then returning to the first chord again. You'll find it more comfortable if you practice some time.
