kevvyg26th February 2009Hi, Great Lesson!
Can I ask a dumb question?
If the piece is in E minor, where does the 'F' note come in (E string, 13th fret). It's a minor 2nd in E minor, (or a minor 7th in the relative scale of G major). Are we actually in E Phrygian or some other minor mode?!
Thanks!
KG
kevvyg26th February 2009Could you explain where the Bb's and D#'s come from as well, please?!!! They're not part of E minor, or A minor. Could it be that you're using E minor as a 'base', but using the F (min 2nd), Bb (b5th), C# (maj 6th), and D# (maj 7th), as accidentals? It drives me nuts when I can't work out what scale a piece is in!!
Thanks again!
KG
kevvyg12th March 2009I've sussed out the D#!!
It's the b7 of the F#dim7!!
I knew it'd come if I thought hard enough!!
Just need to thik about the Bb and C# now...
Thanks for a great sounding lesson...and one that makes you think...
