Hi GMC! Today I’ve recorded a lesson in the style of a very interesting band called Jane’s Addiction. Their music and sound have been an important influence in many 90’s and actual rock bands. Dave Navarro is a very imaginative guitar player with an amazing style and a unique sound. Perry Farrell is so talented. I think that they are all talented and that’s why they created such a great band and songs.

I think that the funky/ Hendrix /rock/metal/alternative combination in Navarro’s style is a must for every rock guitar player. He also recorded the amazing (for me) album One Hot Minute with RHCP (that sound very in the style of Jane’s Addiction). However they weren’t only a great rock band, with excellent songs and musicians, they used to do excellent and unique shows.

Here we go… Jane’s addiction style for you!

Tempo: 120
Key: First E minor and then it modulates to F# mixolydian.

I fully agree with Juan. My Spanish is clearly getting better. It really did sound like their unique sound in the second part, that was special. And this lesson, as with most all of yours, is great.

When I said second part, I meant second half, your parts 3 and 4. Although parts 1 and 2 are certainly nice.

I know this song (forgot the name)... The lyrics start with "here we go"....

Arent they pop-punk (right now)?

Nice lesson by the way. Nice job giving recognition to power chords (they still own).

Too short man, really getting into that tune then it stops - love JA so great to have this lesson!
Excellent mix of power chords, riffs, octaves and wails - must go and learn. Give us some more please.
Thanks for this GL.

Thanks guys! I love this band.

Jammer: I think that they combine different styles like funk, metal, pop, industrial and punk so it's a bit difficult to define it with one word or two.
