   Hello GMC! Today we are going to explore the rhythmic style of the most important Trash Metal bands. They used to have excellent guitar work in all their songs so I think that this lesson would be interesting for every beginner/intermediate guitar player that would like to improve his rhythm techniques. I composed this lesson using the chord progressions, riffs and harmonisations most used by Mustaine and Friedman in their compositions.

Tempo: 165
Key: E minor + E Harmonic minor (the Vm chord of the minor harmonized scale is sometimes played Mayor so we are using E harmonic minor)

See you!

Gabriel.-

Once again, you analyze a style, break it down and create a flawless lesson that inspires others to play that way - you are very very good at this smile.gif

It means "tied note". You will understand why it appears if you open the guitar pro file.

Very Very good!
The beginning is SO COOL!

PS: Don't know if it's only a typing mistake of you , but the genre is called THrash metal with "h" wink.gif
Many people don't know that and think that it means "rubbish" metal xD

Do you have to mute the E string all the time at the beginning of the lesson?, in this kind of parts:

D||--------9--------8-----7
A||--------7--------7-----7
E||--0--0-----0--0-----0---

For some reason I can't get the same sound if I don't.

If you have to mute it, what's the best way?

yes Fran, I mute the E string all the time at the begining with my right hand palm.

Thanks Gabriel, and another doubt:

In the 5th section, in this kind of parts:
A|--------10--------10-----10--|
E|--0--0---0--0--0---0--0---0--|

The only way I seem to be able to make it sound right is if I upstrum the beats with two strings.

I mean, I downstrum all the time the E string, but when I have to strum the E and A strings at the same time if I do it downstrumming the E string "eats" all the sound and I almost can't hear the A string.

But if I upstrum both strings at the same time then it sounds good.

Do you upstrum those beats? If you don't... how do you manage to make it sound good without the E string sounding much stronger and "eating" the sound of the A string?

I hope I managed to explain myself, it's a simple question but hard to explain in a message :/
