seagull13th October 2008Fantastic lesson yet again Muris!
I have no problems playing it, however I've never really learned how to count measures, except for straight 4/4 measures. Any advice on this? I think it's very simple, but since I've never had problems playing most measure values, I've never really bothered to learn to count them.
Nemanja Filipovic13th October 2008Amazing lesson Muris.![]()
Muris Varajic13th October 2008Appreciate it guys,much thanks. ![]()
Seagull, there are basically 2 approaches for counting odd beats/grooves
and it all depends of type if the groove/grooves.
Easier one is when you have the same odd groove playing in loop,
lets say 7/8,5/4 etc.
When groove is the same all the time it kind a gets into you,
you feel the groove so there is no need to really count it.
And more harder situation is like it this lesson,
when grooves are changing all the time,
it needs real focus and real counting, like 1234,12345,1212123 etc,
schemes are many but it needs to be counted.
You may count it by stepping with the foot and counting in your mind
or you say count it on loud, pronouncing every beat. ![]()
