Welcome to my Metal prog rythm lesson! In the following sections I'll explain how I build intricate rythm tracks over modern prog tracks. To achieve that, we'll use a combination of power chords with scales. Mixing these two elements are the key to creating interesting rythm parts.
If you are not familiar with that style, I recommend that you listen to bands such as Dream Theater or Symphony X. They are a big influence to me and their rythm parts should inspire you in your creativity.
