Hello GMC! Welcome to my second Thrash Metal lesson. In this one we’ll continue working with fast riffs but we’ll begin to explore Trash metal solo guitar style. I’ll show you some licks very often used by Kirk Hammet (Metallica), Marty Friedman (Cacophony & Megadeth) and Dave Mustaine (Megadeth).

This lesson is for intermediate/advanced players and I suggest you to practice the Megadeth Riffing Lesson and the Thrash Metal Style lesson 1 before learning this one.

In this tune I used different techniques like palm muting, only down strokes rhythm technique, alternate picking, sweep picking, bending, hammer-on and artificial harmonics.

This tune is in D minor key and I used dropped D tuning. The tempo of the song is 190 bpm. You’ll find 3 backing tracks at different tempo to practice this stuff.

See you!

Gabriel.-
