This explicit song is going to show you one or two tricks..! Parts of it will be suitable for the absolute beginner - while the solo and the intro riff are a little trickier. If one were to categorise it in a specific genre, rock/punk-rock would be the appropriate one.
Also, this lesson includes a true backing track paradise: You get the whole song without guitars, without lyrics, different speeds and whatnot. So if you feel like putting the guitar down and start yelling (like I did when recording it!) - you have the option to do so.
Imagine you are the only guitarist in the band and your drummer comes up with a cool rythm. You know the chords, and you know 3 scales: minor, major and phrygian. You have 5 minutes straight to create a guitar part and to make it interesting.
In this lesson we will use speedpickinglicks to create a speedriff.
If you ever listened to any power-metal bands you probably wondered
how do they come up with their riffs and speedriffing is a good example of that.
When you finish playing this riff you'll notice that all we did was combining simple powerchords with scales. Sounds interesting? Get on it!
This solo is an example of how to combine different techniques into one cool sounding solo. Bending, tapping, legato, slowsweeping and using twofingers of your righthand to tap.
Looks wild, but don't worry - you can do it - jump on it! ;)
