Nick32521st April 2008awsome juan
Echegollen23rd April 2008How come the C chord played in A form has more than 3 notes to press on the fretboard according to the first diagram???
Juan M. Valero24th April 2008well, actually is not a C chord, is a C arpegio.
As you can see in all forms the notes in a C arpeggios are always a C,E and G (1st, 3rd and 5th.)
if you want to do a C chord you just need to play this 3 notes
Echegollen24th April 2008Thank you for answering so quickly!
One last question amigo...what is an ARPEGGIO???
Juan M. Valero24th April 2008Arpeggios are the notes of chords played one by one, so that's the reason because in the arpeggios diagrams we have 2 notes in the same string, because we play one and then the other not both together (witch is imposible
) like n the chords.
Echegollen25th April 2008Muchas gracias. Ahora todo esta claro!
Juan M. Valero25th April 2008De nada amigo !! gracias a ti por escribir ![]()
steiner6667th May 2008You managed to put things in ways easier for me to understand regarding the CAGED chords and their relation to arpeggios than most people whose native tongue is english. Thanks for the lesson!
Echegollen19th May 2008I can play the C chord in the A form and E form. However, how do you place your fingers to play the C chord in a D form ???
Juan M. Valero19th May 2008mmm I not sure what do you mean... to play this chord form just think in the open chords C, A, G, E and D and play them but WITHOUT using your index finger... if it's too hard you can play them 12 fret over.
steiner666, thank you very much for this comment I'm so happy that you find usefull the lesson and that you understand better those concepts. You encourage me to record more 1o1 spoken lessons ![]()
steiner66621st May 2008Please do! I can't get enough of the spoken lessons.
I don't like reading about scales, intervals, arpeggios, modes and all of that. It's harder for me to understand the theory that way, it's much easier to have someone explain while they demonstrate these things.
Juan M. Valero29th August 2008hehe, I understand that it's an easy way to study, so I'll try to record another spoken lesson, but I suppose I'll do it in a different way ![]()
This is a really good lesson! Thanks Juan ![]()
