Hi GMC!! Welcome to Yngwie Malmsteen lesson 3!
This is one of my favourite’s lesson. This is a two strings sweep picking etude in that begins in A major and finally modulates to C at the end. Sweep picking is one of the most used techniques used by Malmsteen. If you don’t know this technique check the Pavel’s Sweeping lessons in this site and pay attention to the closer shots of my right hand movements.

I used the A minor scale and the different arpeggios of every progression’s chord to compose the solo.

Chord progression:

Am – Am – Am – Am – E/G# - E/G# – E/G# - E/G# - C – C – C – C – G – G – G – G – F – F – C – C – F – F - G – G – C –

Tempo: 206 bpm

Practice every part slowly with metronome and be patient!

Bye

Gabriel.-

That's a very very cool lesson! This is a perfect extension to those 3-string sweeping arpeggios. Good job Gabriel!

yes Ryan, and I mute a bit those string with my right hand to make it sound good and clean.

Gustavo: Si!! es parecido a Preludio y tambien a Rising Force de Malmsteen. Preludio es un muy buen ejercicio para sweeps de 2 cuerdas.

Gustavo: Just keep the position every day (without playing) and then your fingers will do it easier.

Great to see someone playing Malmsteen with a Les Paul. Maybe there is hope for me yet. Keep up the great work.
May I ask what you are using to get such a fantastic tone?
