UncleSkillet29th February 2008Thanks man! This is great will help me get the Extreme Neo-Classical 16th trips faster. Finished the leason (Extreme Neo) and can play at 90bpm, but the 16th trips get me (think it is the alternate picking at that speed). I will get better.
Thanks again

-Fox-30th March 2008Great lesson! Wow, it's so difficult NOT to SWEEP to adjacent strings (from the third note of the triad back to the first)! It seems to go against my nature to do so!
-Fox-30th March 2008correction = triplet...but you knew what i meant!
Great lesson, and I will continue to practice to break the habit!
Muris Varajic30th March 2008Thanks Fox. ![]()

just go for it and let me know if you need any help at all.

Jesse18th August 2008Great:O Wow.. my wrist hurts now.. Maybe a silly question: If I use the metronome.. what beat should I use ? just tick tick tick tick tick etc.. or tack tick tick tack tick tick tack tick tick, like an accent?
Muris Varajic18th August 2008Take some rest if it hurt and try it in a while,
last thing you wanna do is to injure yourself!!!
As for beats, easier way is to have 8ths(even 16ths) clicking cause you'll have less
silence between the notes and it's easier to follow tempo.
Try it like that till you get comfortable with the speed you're aiming at
and then set 4ths as licks, will be more difficult cause you'll
take a small role as a metronome but it will improve your tempo A LOT. ![]()
pake3rd September 2008Thanks for a good lesson
It is really good alternate picking
exercise. Im not fast enough yet but
lets practice practice....
pake3rd September 2008Hi Muris
I have problems to
calculate baeat on my mind.
How should i calc?
Thanks Pake
Muris Varajic3rd September 2008Well mostly it's 16th notes all the time,
which is 4 notes per beat.
And at the end we have some 16th trilpets as well,
that is 6 notes per beat. ![]()
AlexLion4th November 2008..Awesome, very cool sounding, and really helpful lesson for sure!
Muris Varajic4th November 2008Thanks,I'm glad you've found it useful. ![]()

BedroomBozo25th January 2009Amazing lesson, Muris. I can't even play it close to speed yet, but God willing, I WILL!!
Excellent way to work the right hand. Thanks a lot, your my fave teacher on here because of lessons like this one.
Muris Varajic25th January 2009Glad you like the lesson,
Welcome to GMC and practice hard! ![]()
Pedja Simovic22nd February 2009Very cool lesson Muris - provides proper alternate warm up technique ![]()
Muris Varajic22nd February 2009Cheers Pedja!
Nighthawk118th April 2009This is an exellent picking excerice Muris but also very good for timing: You cannot sing here one two three four because the first note of the four 16th notes is not always the highest or lowest pitch so you just have to concentrate on the beat and not on the melody...this is excellent training...So I think you should never sing notes 1234 just stay on the same pitch or exercises like this will be very difficult for you if you get used to it...
Muris Varajic19th April 2009Glad you like it! ![]()
Daniel Realpe26th April 2010very well thought to work on alternate picking
Daniel Realpe1st September 2010Reminds a bit of Jason Becker, excellent
DeathereX9th March 2011This is truly a great picking exercise Muris!
For me it seems like the method I use on my right hand isn't really working when I try to play higher than 110 bpm. Is there a specific technique you use in order to get the right hand to follow up while playing 120 and higher?
thefireball6th December 2011cool ![]()
