Welcome to my first country lesson! Today we'll explore a few lick ideas that will work over a country blues in E. We'll use and blend together minor and major pentatonics in order to get that country blues sound. One of the things you need to focus on if you want to sound country, is your picking. The low nots will be played with he pick held between the thumb and the index, while the middle and ring finger will play the higher notes.

Pay close attention to the different angles that I provided, that should help you. Also, memorize the 10 following scales, they will be very handy in many musial situations.

Have fun!

Aahh yes, speed it up some 50 bpm's and I can just imagine the pickup truck leaping through the air with some mid-jump freeze frame with a narrator remarking the hillbillyness' of it all. biggrin.gif

I guess you did move to Austin. Kidding, nice playing, sounds nice. Except omission of barnyard noises(as Roo had).

Very nice lesson, David biggrin.gif

Could it be that the audio on this one is quite quiet? Or is it my computer being annoying? tongue.gif
