With a little bit off stretching it is possible to re-use all the classic 3 note per string shapes and get a completely different sound, by using the pentatonic scale!

Welcome to this extended pentatonics lesson! Today's workout will be very demanding on your left hand, so make sure to stretch and warm up before working on this!

We'll be using various 3 note per string pentatonic scales to achieve a fast shred like lead. All the examples will be played with a legato technique. The hard part will be the stretches.

Don't worry about speed first, but concentrate on building a strong clean technique before anything else.

As always, try to use these as a starting point in your own guitar playing.

    Have fun!
