Mark Schiewe9th January 2007This solo is hard
Kristofer Dahl9th January 2007Mark: You can do it! ![]()
Mark Schiewe9th January 2007Haha I will most certainly try Kris
jm_patton10th January 2007Kris what kind of an effects processor do you use?
jm_patton10th January 2007Damn this is so Vai. Really cool stuff
Kristofer Dahl10th January 2007jm_patten: It's just my amp (Peavey triple X)through a Hughes Kettner red box.
Kristofer Dahl10th January 2007Oh if you are thinking about the echoes in the middle of the solo, those are just copied with the computer.
Jeff10th January 2007Kris, this is excellent. What a great mixture of notes. Not too much. The dynamics you use make it much more enjoyable to play and hear. Looking forward to starting this one. Reminds me a little of Curious Coincidence is some ways. Thanks again for another outstanding lesson!
RIP Dime11th January 2007Yea, this is hard. How do you do those one-handed arpeggios so fast?!
7th Avenue Aviator12th January 2007Outstanding!!!!
Spank that musical monkey!
xtrmn8tr19th January 2007kris you are amazing...how many hours a day do you practice?
Kristofer Dahl20th January 2007Well currently, not enough
- the last weeks I have averaged 1-2 hours per day. I would like it to be around 3 - which I think would be enough for me now in order to make some good prgress.
When I started out I averaged 5-8 per day.
Part 16 is wrong.
I should be:
e|------------|
b|---8-8---8~-|
g|/9-----9----|
d|------------|
a|------------|
e|------------|
Kristofer Dahl20th January 2007Norven: Fixed!
Great:)
But.. is it only 2 parts left?
I think that it should be much more:S Or am I wrong?
Kristofer Dahl20th January 2007I see what you mean - the second part of the solo will treated in a new lesson - starting from the fast pickign part! ![]()
Nice:)
I´ve been waiting for the fast part:)
FrenchyFungus26th January 2007Tab for the middle part of vid 18 is slightly wrong, should be 8s not 7s, no?
Kristofer Dahl26th January 2007Frenchy: Thanks - fixed now!
Steelkonsum31st January 2007My favorite part of this is right after the speedpicking all the way.
After that it gets so much more feelier (err?) and I just love it. Can't wait to learn that part. Will take some serious time from my sweep picking crusade but well worth it I think.
Doofs12th February 2007[blink] Wow.... I think this is something I'm gonna focus on for some time!!
Hawk8th April 2007Hail, folks!
I have 2 questions regarding he 1st part:
1)According to instructions we play "by lightly touching the strings with the left hand". Do we put the hand randomly or is it already in a chord shape?
2)About the right hand motion - is it like palm muting (touching the string close to the bridge) or not?
Gustavo7th May 2007kris u r awsome... i think i gonna larn this in 2 years XD
Kristofer Dahl7th May 2007Hawk: 1) Randomly [for the scratching]
2) No need for palm muting when "scratching" - since you are already damping with left hand. ![]()
Farbror Kudde26th October 2007Awesome kristofer! ![]()

Don't get depressed - the fun part is when you are learning. "Knowing" isn't nearly as fun! ![]()
