Hello everybody! Welcome to my first lesson at gmc, this lesson is a guitar solo from one of my songs, I like to think of it as a Metal with some groove. As you can see, it is a shuffle which allows to create interesting phrasing ideas.
This lesson combines alternate picking, legato, and some sweep picking. It is somewhat of a shred lesson, however it may not feel that way because of the rhythm.
The solo is in the key of E minor, however you will see occasionally I play certain notes that are not part of the E-minor scale but rather E blues scale or E major to add some color. The great thing about this chord progression is that it allows for you to experiment in various scales and you can create very exciting and interesting solos.
With the backing tracks provided you can experiment with this idea, and create solos in all those keys.
I have also provided a Guitar Pro tab which makes it much easier to read.
Have fun!
Jose Antonio Mena
