Toni Suominen25th May 2008nice job guys! ![]()
yet another terrific example of your playing, thanks muris. definitely a lot of inspiration there. a quick question. in video 2, the tab (both printed and guitar pro) show a pull off from 8 to 5 on the b string. but watching the video, i can swear that you are doing straight alt picking. i find playing this type of lick with alt picking a lot easier then doing the pull off. but if i was to do the pull off, do you recommend starting every beat on a down stroke, or alternating?
thanks,
boris
fatb0t25th May 2008Love these licks man...thanks

Great job both of you ![]()
Ivan Milenkovic25th May 2008Great licks Muris. good job ! ![]()
Muris Varajic26th May 2008Nighthawk.you can play it with alternate or pull-off,
doesn't really matter,it wont ruin the lesson at all,
you'll still be playing good old minor penta. ![]()

and Leedbreak has opened my eyes for sure!!
Mats Hedberg21st June 2008great Muris ! great lesson and right hand picking!
Mats.
Muris Varajic21st June 2008Thanks man!! ![]()
hi muris,
i see that you are (hm how do i put this in words..)
like sweeping over all the strings to make one string sound.
i hope you know what i mean,
it's the first note your picking.
i think it gives a really strong effect, but, how do you do it?
great lesson, exactly what i needed
thijs,
Muris Varajic7th February 2009That would be racking technique,
use a lot like players such is SRV etc.
Take a look at my In Style Of SRV lesson,
I did some explanations there. ![]()
ah
i'll check it our right away
thanks for your fast feedback
you rock (H)
Muris Varajic7th February 2009Anytime ![]()
about the racking techique,
is it true that the other string can't make a sound, so not like palm muting the other strings, but really muting?
and, should you make like a sweep right hand movement, or more a slam movement?
hm, i can 'rack' a note on the G string, but the other strings are still a struggle.
but, defenitly gonna practice this, it's really cool technique
thank you muris
Muris Varajic8th February 2009It's pure left hand muting and with your right hand you should
do something between sweep and slam but more like a slam.
It's matter of time and practicing, you need to get a "feel"
for what and how to mute when playing on certain strings with raking,
you'll get there, no worries. ![]()
huh? is it left hand muting?
oef, almost started making a bad guitar 'habbit'
thank you for helping me ![]()
Muris Varajic9th February 2009Yeah, 99% of muting is via left hand,
as you can see, right hand is pretty away from strings
doing all those heavy slams, there is actually no chance to mute with it. ![]()
that was why i couldn't do it
haha
thank, keep on racking ![]()
Muris Varajic9th February 2009You're welcome, let me know if you need more help tho. ![]()
Pedja Simovic1st May 2009I just saw this one... Great solo Muris ! It has everything in there, well done ![]()
Muris Varajic1st May 2009Hey, cheers Pedja, this is pretty older one. ![]()
Nighthawk15th July 2009Those vertical runs at the very ending break my neck
I really have to practise those
Muris Varajic5th July 2009Let me know if I can help! ![]()
Nighthawk18th July 2009Thanks for your attentiveness Muris...it just the speed of this run so I think there is not much left to say than practice until your fingers bleed
...
Muris Varajic8th July 2009Bleeding fingers?? No way ![]()

Based on a recording by the GMC member Leedbreak. It's all about the minor pentatonic scale. Techniques involved are alternate picking, bends, legato, and phrasing.
