Hello GMC! As I promised, it's time to play solos over Jazzy Swing backing track.:)
This time it's on Beginner Level, nothing hard here indeed, technique wise. But maybe it's bit tricky to follow notes cause it's not just simple major or minor scale.
It is in Key of D and I do use D major scale here a lot but there are also some neighbor notes
and "out" of scale notes included.
Now, if you practiced my previous Jazz Rhythm lesson(hope you did) then you probably noticed many chords with "out" of scale notes. In this solo we simply follow those chords, nothing else.:) So don't think of it as some other scale, it's still D major scale with some small alterations caused by chord progression, that's all!
And try to play it with thumb as I did, gives nice and warm jazzy sound. :)
Have fun!
