shellshock191117th January 2008Yea really awesome lesson in addition with the rhythm section. I am working on incorporating my theory lately so I study other peoples works to see why they do certain things. Why do you play the F#m arpeggio as first lick over Dmaj7 in video one?
Muris Varajic17th January 2008I'm actually playing piece of Dmaj7 arpeggio.
Notes are D,F#,A and C#.
As you can see, sort of F# minor inside. ![]()
krudtaa17th January 2008Nice lesson. thanks.

Muris Varajic17th January 2008Thanks David!! ![]()
As the matter it is,same sound I used for Country Solo.
Pandora works quite nice indeed. ![]()

eddiecat25th March 2008
I love the effect of those semi tones sliding
into the correct note!
Those are the out notes, right?
The two lessons combined (rhythm and solo)
are also a great theory exercise.
Could never apply them to my own playing,
in that sense they are far too advanced,
but I love "studying" them.
Cheers, Eddie
eddiecat25th March 2008Oh! Just read the introduction again...
With out notes you mean notes out of the scale!
Forget my previous post!
Bye
Muris Varajic25th March 2008Yes Eddie, with "out" notes I think of notes out of scale, diatonic wise, major, minor and modes(7 notes scale).
But Jazz is wide space where chromatic has great importance. ![]()
eddiecat25th March 2008Sorry, me again!
The semi notes sliding into correct notes
are neighbour notes, right?
Aaarggghhhhh...
Muris Varajic25th March 2008That's right Eddie. ![]()
Some neighbor notes are also "out" notes,as you can see.
Lian Gerbino30th April 2008man u r awesome!
Muris Varajic1st May 2008Cheers Lian ![]()
sigma727th May 2008grr..why is jazz so hard?!
Muris Varajic28th May 2008Perhaps it has wider boarders but believe me,
once you jump into it it's a pure fun. ![]()
stickpin2nd February 2009new guy here,do the lessons use standard tuning?
is there a tuning application on the site?
just want to be able to play along and be in tune with the tracks and work with the lessons.
thanks
Muris Varajic2nd February 2009Most of the lessons are in standard tuning
except few but there is always a note about tuning.
There is no tuner app on the site right now
but that feature is coming up soon I hope.
And welcome to GMC. ![]()
