Capt.Z15th July 2008Nice new JEM. Cool lesson!
Caelumamittendum15th July 2008Actually...too bad I got my whammy bar blocked from going upwards, can't play the bend on the f# harmonic on the 7th fret. DOH!
Muris Varajic15th July 2008No big deal, just imagine that you played upward whammy
and go for the rest. ![]()

Caelumamittendum15th July 2008Actually, there's an easy workaround on that opposite dive. Didn't think of that before, but it's quite obvious, really. Play the note an octave higher, f# on the high e string, 14th fret, and bend that note to a g#. DOH again! ![]()
Muris Varajic15th July 2008Band is another way,why not. ![]()

USAMAN15th July 2008Shame on you. Does Andrew know that you stole his beloved jem?
Muris Varajic15th July 2008Well he surely knows now ![]()
Pi3815th July 2008Oh...my. That was some awesome whammy-work there. So very Vai-esque. Man, that was just incredible.
rockztar15th July 2008That was great muris, nice work
Pi3815th July 2008Now that's that's the type of whammy-bar that doesn't detune a guitar. Mine will sound like a cat in a wood chipper after I whammy a little bit.
kaznie_NL15th July 2008Nice guitar

Matt, give it a try and ask if you need anything tho!
sigma725th July 2008Wut does phrasing mean...? Ive always wanted to no that. Sweet lesson Muris, keep it up!
Muris Varajic25th July 2008Pretty good question Sigma.
Phrasing is like doing certain licks with some sense,
not just random use of scale up and down the neck.
So it's sub-category of soloing. ![]()
Alexiaden9324th May 2009Wow, amazing shredding ! I didn't know you had an Ibanez JEM ! ![]()
Muris Varajic24th May 2009Yeah, I won that one at "Steve Vai competition"
held by Lick Library, cheers. ![]()
Morganstudios24th August 2009Love this!!!
Just a small note that in the tabs in bar 5 beat 3, there's a G natural that should be G sharp (16th fret instead of 15th)
Muris Varajic25th August 2009Thanks, I'll check it out asap! ![]()
Buddha Long3rd January 2010love these lydian lessons - I wish these were written out in standard sheet music. I'm playing them on keyboard, good for the ear but it takes quite a while to transcribe them. Besides the Vai sound, the advanced sounds a bit like Alan Holdsworth in spots (I love Holdsworth) Great lessons!
Muris Varajic5th January 2010Cheers! ![]()
Aleksander Sukovic2nd July 2010Top class, as always ![]()
