This solo is an example of how to combine different techniques into one cool sounding solo. Bending, tapping, legato, slow sweeping and using two fingers of your right hand to tap.
Looks wild, but don't worry - you can do it - jump on it! ;)

This part is pretty tricky to play so learn the tabs and then follow the slow video. Lick combines legato and tapping. All the legato+tapping part must be played on 1 bar.
The most important thing is to carefully play legato parts (hammer on and pull off) not to touch strings you don't want to ring or you'll get an overall noise. This type of tapping requires a bit of practice to feel the touching in your fingers.
Check out the Lead+Metronome backing to hear how to play it with metronome.

This lick combines a slow 5-string minor sweep-arpeggio shape and some bending.
If you are not sure how to sweep - check the lessons on sweeping.
Basics of Sweeping cover just the thing you need to play this one.

This is an A-Major scale run in triads. Pick only the first note of each triad and carefully hammer-on the next note.
This is a great excercise if you want to master legato incorporated into a scale run. Watch the video for position of the left hand,
it is important to keep the little finger ready to hammer-on not to be late. Advice: practice it with metronome.

In this lick you'll meet with a cool trick of tapping 2 notes with 2 fingers of your right hand.
Tap the note with a middle finger, leave it there, than tap the next note with your ring finger,
than pull off your ring finger, than pull of your middle finger. This requires some practice because in the beginning
you'll often meet with the problem of pulling off too strong and playing the string you didn't want to.
Watch the video and you'll see how it is done!
Hope you liked the lesson!
Riffing lessons comming soon, after that i will work on some Wah-Wah stuff. Maybe my JEMTIME song would be a good example of using wah (check it out in the GUITAR UPLOADS section on the forum).
Hey Pavel-Simply amazing but but I am having a difficult time with the video. There is a time lag between what the video displays & the music, almost like watching a dubbed Japanese to English film. I am having difficulty translating the tab to what the video shows. Is it possible to break it down like the others videos on GMC showing both the left hand findering along with what the right hand is doing as to hammer ons, tapping & pull offs?
Hey thanks!
The only notes right hand plays is the tapping marked with big "T" in the tabs. The left hand plays all the other notes with legato. Hammer-ons and pull-offs are also marked in the tabs. You only have to pick the first note: B on the B string (12th fret). The rest is legato.
As for the video: the videos i recorded don't have any lag at all so it must be because of the Flash Player.
Hey Amirandtaimur - you speaking about the tapping part? Well - haha - that part is in 16th notes, mixed up in 6-tuplets - there are about 29 notes and i was not able to force GuitarPro to play it the correct way so you just have to listen to my playing and try to play it the same way. You can also meet a lot of strange measures in classical music where there are huge passages and runs but they are played freestyle!
