ok! :)

Before you attempt this lesson you should do the "Beginner version" of this solo (click the link above), or... if you feel that this lesson is a piece of cake, you could go for the advanced version.

The biggest difference is that we don't play in triplets anymore (3 notes per beat). You will recognize the shapes of all the licks though, but it's good if you have learned them by muscle memory so you don't have to think about the fingers so much.

Great development of the theme, the beginner intermediate concept seems to be working out really well smile.gif

Not to go overboard on the Vibrato, but I really liked it too. Maybe you or one of the other instructors could do a mini-technique lesson on it?

Marcus,

Great solo! Really would like to learn it, but the tab is practically useless. No tempo, no note values, no nothing. It really makes it that much more difficult to learn. Trying to stop and start GMC video is a real pain (not to mention the horrible bit rate). Please invest in GuitarPro. I promise, you will love it (its cheap too). Very easy to use, and a great tool for composition.

FretDancer69,
I can see now that I made a mistake in the tabs. The last two notes should be played on the G-string, just as you said.

Sorry about this! I will fix the tabs a.s.a.p!

Hi Coch00ch00man,

I thought the same thing about the video player but then I discovered that you can just loop the section of the video that you want by sliding the triangle markers back and forth. Have you tried that?

Hi Markus,

The lick from video number 3 has 4 notes per string but you don't use zour pinky finger , whats zour recomendation to do like u or to use the four fingers?

Thanks

@ coffeeman

Use the fingering that's most comfortable to you. Pinky or not - both ways work fine in that lick! smile.gif

maybe this is going to sound newbie but....how do i do the tuning "E-FLAT"?

i know it's half step down but.... hehe whats that?
Marcus Lavendell
post 11th January 2008

Instructor

@nsskid
It's very simple. Just tune down all the strings "one fret" (so the E-string should be tuned to the pitch of Eb/D#, the A-string to Ab/G#, and so on...)

When you've done that on all the strings - you will be in Eb tuning (E-flat) smile.gif

Maybe it's just me, but in video 2, you're playing two completely different things (one fast, one slow). When you play fast you don't walk back up to the 13th fret on your high e string, you just go from the 13th fret on the b string to the 13th fret on the high e string. Maybe I'm missing something, maybe not.

Great solo either way!

Argh this is killing me. For some reason none of your guitar pro tabs work for me. It says "please update your guitar pro software" even though I have the latest version =/

Anyone else have this trouble?

I see now that I play wrong i that video. I'm really sorry about that! sad.gif I have no excuse...
The TAB seem to be correct though, so look at that instead!
