Gabriel Leopardi16th May 2007sb81: I'm using my old Marshall Valvestate mod 8080. It's very important to get a warm sound for this king of stuff.
I used a sm 57 mic and a beringer pre to record the guitar. Then I added Waves plug in Reverb.
awesome lesson!!!!!!!!
wow i love the sound of this.
Great job Gabriel.
Gabriel Leopardi30th May 2007Thanks Boris and Anirudh!!

Hi guys sorry it's been a while since I've been
on GMC! Hope to get back in the game ASAP!
Beebo.
beebo1st June 2007Gabriel Nice Lesson!
But I'm having a problem with section 4!
Any help?
p.s. I'm having trouble because in the vid to me it looks like ur sliding (the main vid) and should I slide when I come back to the e string to change notes or no? (try not to get confused)
lol
Gabriel Leopardi4th June 2007Hi beebo! When you are practicing at slow tempos you don't have to slide but when you play this kind of licks fast maybe it seams to have slides.
Wow great lesson. I really like it, but in vid 4 it'd be alot less confusing if you put like a space between each phrase because you really have to look close to get it. Still really like nece thing to add to my repatwar:)
I use a gibson SG hehe, Something about it that gives this neoclassical stuff an extra boost ![]()
Gabriel Leopardi25th June 2007I agree with you... it should be the wood and the pick ups.
mattacuk6th July 2007HI Gabi,
im getting on with lesson fine accept the last lick from part 3. Im unsure how to swap from lick 3 to lick 4 smoothy! Are you just useing your index finger to bar fret 5 and useing your pinky?
Gabriel Leopardi10th July 2007Hi Matt. The left hand movement should be very fast to make this lesson smoothy. I put my index finger in position (fret 5) but I play fret 8 with my pinky.
mattacuk10th July 2007Thats great thanks Gabi. Ive really picked this peice of music up in no time - so all these lessons your doing must be really helping eh ! ![]()

Today we have an interesting neoclassical solo. This is a great exercise where we will combine 2 & 3 strings sweeps and legato. The chord progression is in Am key and I used the different arpeggios to create the solo. In the end of the solo I used A harmonic minor scale.
