Dashooter14th March 2008Can you explain how your pinches so damn loud? Mine are so soft compared to yours. Are you using an insane amount of compression or something? I already use a lot of distortion and bridge pickup.

Dashooter: I'm not using a compressor on this. The active EMG pickups does help though, but this should be playable on most pups. The trick is to keep the other strings completely muted.

yeap. first part looks of the GP file looks fine, but then it shows zeros and no notes. I am using TuxGuitar 1.0 and that might be the problem. Interesting that it is the first time I seem this type of problem using GP. if you want a screenshot let me know. Anyway, tab works fine for me.

It's so cool to have such control over pinch harmonics! They squeal at my command! I have never played a song with so many pinches, so when i get this down, i can pinch the strings til they scream "OW!"

Hi all :) Pinch Harmonics is one of my favourite little techniques to do on the guitar, and by adding just a few pinches here and there, you can really spice up any old boring riff or solo.
With this lesson, i wont go into the very basics of pinch harmonics. This lesson is more about how you can easily use (or over-use as i have done in this vid:) pinch harmonics in your melodies or riffs.
If you have just mastered pinch harmonics, hopefully you will pick up an idea or two on how to further use them. Like bending, vibrating or sliding the pinches.
BPM: 150 (With a half-time feel)
Tuning: E standard
I have included 4 backingtracks and a guitarpro file.
Hopefully this will inspire more pinch usage for some of you :)
