Another lesson from Rock Rythm 'n Solo serie! You'll meet some cool bending licks, playing octaves as part of the riff and hopefully, after learning this lesson, you'll get another view on composing and writing riffs using similar rythm patterns.

I found this site and your series of Rock, Rhythm n Solo and said to myself that is what I want to sound like when I play the guitar.

Pavel you are an amazing guitarist and I plan on learning every single one of these lessons. Keep up the amazing work and I hope you start doing some professional recording in the near future. Let us know if you do I want to hear it. I'm sure a lot of the GMC subscribers do too.

Kris don't let this guy stop teaching. tongue.gif

Thanks a lot man! More of that serie will be there!
I am currently working on my first shred composition - it's almost complete! It will be a combination of Rusty Cooley Style and Luca Turilli (shred+orchestral arrangements) - it has some serious stuff in and it will be recorded at the end of the month! I'll share it with GMC-ers on the forum! Enjoy the Rock Lessons until than! smile.gif

P.S. i noticed Gabriel and i have our own series going: he is into the blues stuff and i got the rock serie moving hehe Cool, ha?

Are the bends getting 2/3 of the triplets?
Pavel
post 5th May 2007

Instructor

Yep! We count each beat as a triplet so it's 1-2-3 per beat. The bend takes 1-2 and than comes 3 for next note!

Quickdraw, check the tone knobs on the guitar. Sometimes they accidentaly get turned with you realizing it and if the get turned almost all the way off they will make your guitar sound muted and muddy.

i just don't get it how to mute the 4th string when playing with 5th and 3d string...and i have no idea what L means...and that s...i get the s...but L?? can you explain to me Pavel, please:)
Pavel
post 30th May 2007

Instructor

To know what L means visit Andrew's Theory Board and look for Time101 topic!! It's all there!!

When you play 5th string with the index finger and 3rd string with ring finger - you mute the 4th string by slightly touching it with INDEX finget!
So Index finger has double action here - it frets the 5th string and mutes the 4th.
