stratman336th July 2007Wow, this is amazing. One of your best!
stratman336th July 2007Oh Pavel, i looked at this E||-----------------------------------|
B||-----------------------------------|
G||----------9---L--9-----------------|
D||----------9h-11--9--9-9---L--9--9--|
A||--------------------9-9h-11--9--7--|
E||-----------------------------------|
What does that L mean?
Pavel6th July 2007It means "Tied Note".
Here Andrew has a lesson about notes and look for Tied Note explanation.

radarlove19846th July 2007Love it! Not a single fast shred run that I have to skip in order to play the song up to tempo!

Muris Varajic7th July 2007Coool!!!!
Eat-Sleep-andJam7th July 2007Very beautiful tone, sounds very Satchy

- John
cool lesson trying to learn to be gental with the electric switching from a acoustic with .013 strings to this fire breathing electric with .01 strings...........is enough to almost loose an eye with strings flying off the thing lol..I THINK D ADDARIO...might want to buy me some lunch..because of my 100 dollar a week string habbit lol
shredmandan7th July 2007Great job as always Pavel.You always put out great lessons.Keep it up
thumbs up
Pink707th July 2007Awesome sound Pavel.
One question for you and for any others. When playing the up on the 9th fret, I barre the A, D, G chords so that I do not have to lift my fingers when I play the 11th. Is this a bad habit or just individual preference?
Nice, you do an excellent job putting emotion into Rock & Metal.
I wept... no, not really, but very awesome! ![]()
Pavel7th July 2007Pink: what video are you talking about?
Pink707th July 2007At the beginning of the lick, as in video 3.
When transitioning from 9th fret D, G to 9th fret A, D. Hope I'm not confusing you more.
Pavel7th July 2007Oooooohhhhhhh ok i understand what you mean!! It's ok but you have to mute the G string when you move down to A string. If you do than it's ok!!
Pink708th July 2007Right on, thanks.
does your guitar have 25 frets? + sweet lesson
i think ure rock and roll lessons are the best!
keep em comin!
Pavel18th July 2007Jeffrey: no, it's 24 frets!
omg lol i didnt see the 24 at the end.... i memorized the whole thing and then saw the 24 lol -.- ill try to bend from 21
on vid 6 you forgot to put the slide from 5 to 12
Pavel18th July 2007It's not that important! You can see HOW i play it! Notes are there just for you see WHAT i play. HOW i play is shown in the video and also you should work on making it comfortable for you! It doesn't mean my way of playing it is comfortable for all of you!
o i c... well i'll keep that in mind, but nice lesson i luv the tune
Rolls27th July 2007If you don't have 24 frets you could try a natural harmonic. I believe the 5th fret harmonic on the same string is the same note.
atomix133731st July 2007Man this is unbelievable, I am addicted to this lesson and man you make this sound so soulful and deep Pavel ![]()
Iced6968th August 2007Very nice lesson. SO tasty!
Jenkinson24th August 2007Beautiful! This is my next lesson to learn..
Jenkinson26th August 2007Umm sorry for the double Pavel but, my strat only has 21 frets
I cant hit that last note even with a bend.. help plz.
Pavel26th August 2007Buy a new guitar!
![]()
You can play E on B string - 17th fret.
That's why i never even thought about guitar with less than 24 frets. The limits are too big.
Jenkinson27th August 2007sounds great thanks! Ive been looking into an ibanez with 24 frets.. but its $700 and I just got a Martin acoustic that set me back $900... soo the ibanez has to wait till after christmas when I get back from snowboarding and can save more money.
Awesome playing Pavel!!! PLEASE more beginner lessons:)
kyldeee30th December 2007Amazing, simply amazing
I don't know how I've missed this lesson, maybe it's because of your other excellent lessons ![]()
Juan M. Valero5th March 2008well done !!! great lesson
Carlos Carrillo25th March 2008great lesson!!!!
good job Pavel

This lesson came to my head when i was doing a warm-up before recording a sweeping lesson. I was playing some bluesy licks and this idea came up so i decided to put sweeping aside and first record this one. It covers some Satriani licks, pentatonic scales and major scale runs.
