Here is some shred funk legato, which I named "Gwisbiz". Theres an E7+9 pedal chord throughout these 6 lix! The bassline on the 2nd bar after each lick is always the same and gives a very rytmic feel to each lick!

I've tried to varied each one of them so they sounded interesting! It's all heavy legato playing (except lick 3)! Once you get a grip on these lix you can incorporate them to your own playing style! Good luck!

Remember that each of these are to be studied slowly and will for sure open up your mind and ears
to new and different sounds and timbres!

Mats.

Great lesson

it's gonna be good for my legato to learn this one. One question though

in lick 2 when you change from your asending legato part to your decending. at the moment that you do a pull-off on the 8th fret, is your other finger already on the 6th fret or do you hammer it on the 6th fret at precisely the moment that you pull of on the 8th fret?

Really cool. I love how the bass flies up and down the frets at the same time you do. Kinda reminded me of YYZ by Rush. Anyway, welcome to GMC, and I'm looking forward to new lessons from you.

thanx guys thats some awesome comments!
im glad you enjoyed my first lesson
and to browq ,i use first the pinky then hammer on the index finger!you need good independence of the 4 fingers especially as i use 011-049
strings to get a fatter sound . it make you a little bit slower but the sound is much bigger!!
next lesson i will use 010-046 on my strat!
and the guitar is a custom made manne ´taos guitar MH 11 model (my model)with th swedis´h flag!

Mats,

Great lesson! For years I jammed with the E7+9 hours on end but usually wind up stuck playing the E pent scale over it. One question: when you play the "odd" notes, are you "thinking" of other scales like the E dim, Ab major, B dorian, etc... or do you play what sounds cool, then discover - hey, that's the E dim scale! Just curious of your thought process when going "out there". Sounds so cool - I'd like to learn how to mix in some exotic riffs once in a while.
